About Antique Staffordshire Lions with Glass Eyes, Pair c.1890-1910
Two Staffordshire lions with wonderfully individual faces. This antique recumbent pair dates to approximately 1890 to 1910, with original glass eyes and hand-painted burnt-orange, black and green glazes.
Resting against rocky bases, the lions face inward as a matched mantel pair. Their burnt-orange, black and earthy green glazes pick out the hand-finished details, while the original glass eyes give each face its own expression. At approximately 33cm long and 3.2kg each, they make a substantial display on a mantel or sideboard. One pair is available; please read the condition notes and review every photograph before purchase.
