Sculptural Czech Glass from the Golden Age of Modernism
Bold, expressive and unmistakably sculptural, this vintage art glass vase is attributed to celebrated Czech designer Josef Hospodka, whose work for Chribska Glassworks helped define the golden era of Bohemian art glass during the 1950s and 60s. His designs are renowned for their dramatic organic forms, vibrant colour combinations and hand-shaped rims that blur the line between functional object and sculpture.
This example features an elegant, folded silhouette with richly layered blue and magenta glass encased in clear crystal, creating remarkable depth as the light moves through the piece. Whether displayed with flowers or admired as a standalone object, it captures the playful optimism of mid-century design.
A striking addition for collectors of Czech art glass, lovers of modernist interiors or anyone drawn to sculptural decorative objects.
